Missions and Outreach Ministries of UOC

UOC Community Food Bank

Our church food bank has been a vital resource for the Aiken, SC community for over eight years, and we are proud to be the largest food bank ministry in the area. Last year alone, we had the privilege of serving over 36,000 people, providing them with much-needed food and support. Through trusted and established partnerships with organizations like Walmart, CVS, Sam's, Kroger, and Food Lion, we are able to bring high-quality food and products to families across the CSRA region. Our mission remains steadfast in serving those in need, and we are grateful for the generous contributions that help us make a lasting impact in our community.

Cafe 421 and Youth Outreach Center

Our free coffee shop and youth outreach center is a cornerstone of support for both the homeless and youth in our community. From Wednesday to Saturday, we provide hot breakfast to our local homeless population, offering not just food, but also a warm and welcoming environment. In addition, our youth outreach center serves as a safe space where young people can come to enjoy games, recreation, and a break from the streets. We are committed to meeting the diverse needs of our community, hosting toy giveaways, holiday dinners, special event meals, and our annual Spring Fling extravaganza for kids and families. Through our Outreach Center, we strive to create opportunities that make a difference—whether through providing food, fostering connections, or creating memories—and we continue to look for new ways to help our neighbors in need.

UOC Ministry House

Our Ministry House serves as a vital mission of UOC, offering a fully equipped safe shelter for men who are seeking a fresh start. This program provides not only a roof over their heads but also the opportunity to work and give back to the community. The men in the program contribute by working at the church, assisting with food bank operations, performing store pickups for food donations, and cooking breakfast for the 421 Cafe Wednesday through Friday. Through this hands-on work, they gain valuable skills and training that will help them rebuild their lives and prepare for a brighter future. The Ministry House offers both shelter and nourishment, along with the chance to serve others, helping these men reintegrate into society with dignity and purpose.
